My sons doing a science fair project showing soda and diet soda which float and sinks .. what would you write for the purpose?

The purpose could be to investigate and compare the floatability properties of regular soda and diet soda.

The purpose of the science fair project is to investigate and compare the density of soda and diet soda to determine why one floats while the other one sinks when placed in water!
