Hello
There are two websites that may be able to help you...
One discusses some effects of different music
http://www.heartmath.org/research/resea ... -mood.html
This other one is an interesting research article that discusses the effect of music on cancer patients...
http://www.cancer.gov/prevention/coptrg ... elson.html
I hope this helps,

Mi MissMelissa,
Many studies have found that music affects people's moods. It will help your project, especially the design, to look for some background research on your question.
I got lots of hits on Google Scholar by typing "music and mood" into the search line. Here are the results:
http://scholar.google.com/scholar?q=mus ... tnG=Search
You can keep looking for more, too!
Let me know if you need help with your experimental design or with interpreting your results.
Best,
Heather
