Global warming

Post by Kylapp »

We are thinking of using Global warming as our topic for our science project. We are so overwhelmed by all the information we have found. We now battle to form our focus question. We would like to cover global warming, kyoto protocol and carbon trading. We are thinking of maybe sending out a carbon footprint calculator to other children our age (our class, other parts of the world where we know people), comparing answers and investigate how we can contribute to reduce our carbon footprint. So, how should we formulate our "Focus Question"? We really would appreciate anyone's help in this matter.

Hi Kyla and Elke!
There's really no right or wrong answer to your question. In fact, I would suggest that you choose an area of global warming that you are really interested in and do some background research, which might help you to pinpoint an exact question that catches your attention. Here are some of the general guidelines-

If you plan on doing something like the carbon footprint calculator, here's a cool website to look into-

You might be able to make your hypothesis something like: "Decreasing consumption of ________ by (amount) will reduce the carbon footprint". Hope this helped, look forward to hearing more!
