Hi,
This sounds like a very interesting project. I presume you have seen the Science Buddies Project Idea on this topic:
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... p003.shtml
You may find these papers describing similar studies helpful:
http://clearinghouse.missouriwestern.ed ... ts/303.asp
http://www.education.com/reference/arti ... struction/
Here is a review of literature and research proposal on the same topic:
http://jrscience.wcp.muohio.edu/nsfall0 ... yhelp.html
And some comments on the subject from a teacher’s perspective:
http://www.aft.org/pubs-reports/america ... cogsci.htm
And a contrary view:
http://cognitive-psychology.suite101.co ... ical_music
I am not an expert in this field, but it sounds like the subject is still under study and no firmly established consensus has been reached. That implies it is a great subject for further study. I hope you really have fun with it!
Best regards,
Barrett Tomlinson

You may want to try different kinds of music. Perhaps different types of music will make a difference.
Try Googling the "Mozart effect".
Good luck!
