Medicine/ health care

Post by bballmango »

Hi
I am planing to do a science fair project on improving the glucose testing system. I want to come up with a way to test the amount of glucose in the blood without actually taking a sample of the blood. To do this, I need to know what is the absoption spectrum of glucose.
Thank you so much!

This paper has a figure and table containing the data I think you are asking for:

Just a quick scan with Google shows that this is an area of intense interest at the present time. If you can make a significant contribbution it will be a really important achievement!

Good luck!!!!

There is actually a noninvasive blood glucose monitoring device that is FDA clear.

This is a neat topic. I am a science journalist and I recently wrote an article about a device, currently under development, that does just what you're describing: http://www.energy.gov/discovery/electro ... escue.html

That is not noninvasive! It still goes in your body!
