Hi
I am planing to do a science fair project on improving the glucose testing system. I want to come up with a way to test the amount of glucose in the blood without actually taking a sample of the blood. To do this, I need to know what is the absoption spectrum of glucose.
Thank you so much!

You have selected an interesting project. The following web sites will give you and idea of how to approach the problem of measuring glucose.

This paper has a figure and table containing the data I think you are asking for:

Just a quick scan with Google shows that this is an area of intense interest at the present time. If you can make a significant contribbution it will be a really important achievement!
Good luck!!!!

Re: Medicine/ health care
There is actually a noninvasive blood glucose monitoring device that is FDA clear.

This is a neat topic. I am a science journalist and I recently wrote an article about a device, currently under development, that does just what you're describing: http://www.energy.gov/discovery/electro ... escue.html

That is not noninvasive! It still goes in your body!TroyPercival wrote:There is actually a noninvasive blood glucose monitoring device that is FDA clear.
