Need ideas!!

Hye guys

I'm new in here. Just want want to ask idea that related to my science computer project that majoring in security.
I think to create an application based on programming language such as php or else but the problem is nothing came up in my head right now.
The application must relate to security.
Beside that i think to create a website.But the problem what security that can we relate with it beside ssl.
Really apprecite if ur just drop by and give ideas.

A couple of ideas came to mind. If you want to focus on the application side of security, there's been a lot of recent developments surrounding security / cyber-security for smart grid technology for infrastructure such as smart meter from your home that sends data to the utilities. If you want to focus on the hard coding side, it may be interesting to focus on the exchanges of the keys in SSL or equivalent. Wikipedia have some interesting information that may serve as a starting point.

PHP is a good choice because it is very commonly used and not so hard to learn. Try these links:

These are starting points for you to find out what sorts of things interest you. Try following the links you find in them, there are many, many possibilities.

Just something else to think about. This is something like what other replies have touched on. Rather than thinking about your project/experiment from the perspective of the solution start by looking for problems to solve. That is, what are the big problems in computer or Internet security today? Why are they still problems? What are the hurdles to overcoming the problem? Once you identify the hurdle, you can look at what other folks are doing to try to solve the problem. That may trigger an idea that you want to explore.
