Green Chemistry - Biofabric Activity Green Chemistry - Biofabric Activity My middle school classes have been trying to make the biofabric following the procedure in your activity. It has not been very successful. We have not been able to get many of the dried materials to release from the material that we poured it into. We have also tried putting it on saran wrap over the fabric, using a fruit leather tray in a dehydrator, and finally in petri dishes. Petri dishes ended up being the most… Read more

Similar Triangles Using Parallax to Measure Distance Similar Triangles Using Parallax to Measure Distance I am in 8th grade geometry, but doing this project for science. I was wondering what a good independent and dependent variable would be to test? Nitrogen Affects Plant Growth Experiment Nitrogen Affects Plant Growth Experiment How does nitrogen affects plant growth experiment? Please give the purpose, hypothesis, possible materials, and three resources would be very much appreciated. I do not understand the meaning of a "control" in this experiment as there needs to be 3 plants: one with nitrogen, one without nitrogen, and the control. Please inform me what I should do for the control plant (like how much nitrogen or things should I… Read more

Servo Motors for a Clinostat Servo Motors for a Clinostat I'm using a servo motor that requires a screw to attach the blade, creating a hump at the head of the screw... I need to apply double-sided tape on top of it but that won't work if the blade is not flat, which it isn't because of the blade. Any suggestions? Re: Servo Motors for a Clinostat Not knowing the specifications, its hard to tell, but you could try either sanding down the screw head or finding a flat head screw. You could… Read more

VoxCad Coding VoxCad Coding Hello! I want to get into somewhat advanced VoxCad. Does anyone know how to implement code into VoxCad that is preferably javascript but C# ok but less optimal? It would be helpful to have step-by-step directions. I am on Windows as well. The reason I want to code is that I want to create a generational neural network evolving soft robots. I viewed a similar creation by someone else and I think I can do it. I am going to use CPPN-NEAT to do it. Thank you to… Read more

Osmosis and Gummy Bears Osmosis and Gummy Bears We conducted an osmosis with gummy bears experiment and discovered that sparkling water consistently made the gummy bear the largest, even more than distilled water. Do you know why? We are using a scale to weigh the gummy bear in grams, first after 12 hours submerged in 56 grams of each liquid and then 24 hours submerged. Thanks for your help! Re: Osmosis and Gummy Bears We are hoping to get help with this question asap, the project is due in… Read more

water filter water filter hi, I did the experiment where you have to test what is more effective; charcoal activated powder or the granules. The granulated one worked but the charcoal powder one turned black. Is this supposed to happen? What is the end result for this experiment?
