Hey there!
I found an experiment that also includes texting vs. talking, but this one measures reaction time rather than emotions. If you'd like to check that out, the link is here: https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... me#summary
As for survey questions you could use, here are a few you could ask test subjects:
How often do you text? Talk?
Which do you prefer?
How do you feel when you text? When you talk?
You could use any survey questions you may see fit... it's your experiment! One thing to keep in mind is that emotions vary by person, so finding a definitive answer is unlikely; don't let this discourage you or your daughter! Try your best to ask questions that could potentially lead to a conclusion.
Good luck with your experiment! Have fun

Hello!
One way to collect data for this project would be observing the facial expression your test subjects make when they receive the same message over a text and phone call. For example, observe the facial expressions your test subjects make when they receive the text, “Have a nice day!” verses the facial expression the same person makes when you tell them over the phone, “Have a nice day!” A Sciencebuddies experiment that will help you with identifying facial expressions is linked below:

Hope this helps!
