Microgravity and Plant Growth
Microgravity and Plant Growth
Hi there,
As I was looking through the "Grow Plants in Microgravity with an Arduino Clinostat" science project I was completely intrigued in doing it for my local science fair, but I had one question in mind. I was wondering how Ben Finio came up with the formula to calculate the gravity of lunar and other celestial bodies by only adjusting the incline of the petri dish. He mentioned the formula of sin^-1(x) in order to calculate…

Science fair help
Science fair help
I'm thinking about entering my county's science fair. I would like to investigate the genetics of long-living vs. short-living animals. I have some ideas for animals to compare like the grey squirrel and the fox squirrel or the African elephant and the Asian elephant. I am having trouble figuring out how to test this. I found out about Ensembl.org, but I have to figure out how to use that. I'm thinking about comparing genes like foxo3 and igf1. Are there…

James Webb Space Telescope
Hi there! Has anyone made the James Webb Space Telescope model project?: https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science-fair-projects/project-ideas/Phys_p082/physics/james-webb-space-telescope-model#reviews
I will be making it with my students this term, but I'm looking for helpful tips, additional pictures, etc. that will make the process easier. I was able to find other questions about this, but no answers. Thanks!

Variables
Variables
First time doing a science project & i think wr have messed up.
So my son tested different places around the house for bacteria. As i was helping my son put together the final parts i realized we need control and variable. Did we mess up because we really didnt test anything? We just watched bacteria grow .. 😔
Re: Variables
Not to worry! Most experiments aren't perfect, and even the most controlled of experiments can sometimes have errors. While an ideal…
