Growing bacteria and antimicrobial activity
Growing bacteria and antimicrobial activity
Hello, I'm going to have a science fair this year. My topic is to observe which plant extracts affect the death of bacteria the most. I've completed the procedure of my experiment by asking lots of experts, but I'm not sure about safety, so I want to get a final check from experts.
I'm going to do this experiment at home. I will disinfect all items and place before and after the experiment.
First of all,…

On the Waste Not Want Not page (building an MFC), I am wondering about the Making salt bridges part. What tubes are they talking about? I thought the agar solution was simple poured into the petri dish and put into the fridge.
these are the instructions:
2) Cover one end of the tube section from the compression fitting securely with aluminum foil. Repeat with the tubes from all of the compression fittings. Place all tubes, open end up,…

Question about How Fish Sink and Float activity
Question about How Fish Sink and Float activity
Greetings !
The article How Fish Sink and Float
explains the behavior of the balloon-bottle system.
But using these observations to explain the behavior of bladdered fish is completely wrong!
The article ignores a whole scientific literature dating back to the 60s [Root effect, rete mirabile, oval body etc.]
The example of the gas-free balloon that sinks the bottle and floats it when filled with…

Hello.
I finished the experiment and have a question about results. My index numbers for each of the sugar preparations get smaller as the percentage goes up, and all of them and the angles are smaller than the one with plain water. My question is: shouldn't I expect the angles to increase as the percentage of sugar increases since it should slow the light down and make it "bend" more?

My daughter is applying glogerm to her hands and then washing her hands with different types of soap to see if one type is better at cleaning her hands than others.
What category would this be in for a science fair? Is it chemistry, medicine/health or consumer science or something else? She has to enter a category for registering.
Also after she applies the glogerm she will take a picture showing that her hands…

Simple drone won’t lift
Simple drone won’t lift
My daughter is doing the simple drone project from Popsicle sticks. We have followed all directions and verified multiple times everything was correct and the drone will not lift. Please help with some trouble shoot options other than checking wires because they’re all correct. We can also feel air under the propellers so I don’t think that’s the issue either and we’re running out of time.
Re: Simple drone won’t lift
