Catapult Project Catapult Project [Administrator note: posting on behalf of student] Project: https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... background --- I need help with two things that I don't really understand from this project. Firstly, If I wanted to do this project with the launch angle as the sole independent variable, should I keep the pull-back angle constant for all my trials? Because if I do this, the length of the rubber band when stretched (x1) and before the ball launches… Read more

Quantitative Data For Bread Project Quantitative Data For Bread Project Hi, I'm doing a science project comparing the effects that the types of flour and water used to made bread have on the final product. Right now, the only quantitative data that I can think of to compare the breads is to compare how much they rise and the size of the bubbles that are inside the bread. Do you have any ideas of other quantitative data I can collect to compare the breads? Thanks! Re: Quantitative Data… Read more
Research on myelin degenerating disease Research on myelin degenerating disease Hi, I am planning to do a research on a myelin degenerating disease and I am thinking of using earth worms. I want to test a few compounds on the disease to check to see if it improves the myelin sheath of the worms. I have the following questions, can you please give me some suggestions to do the research. 1) Do you have any other suggestion apart from earth worms? 2) Do you know any way that I will be able to… Read more

Does this kids experiment have too many variables? Does this kids experiment have too many variables? This is the research problem that was submitted but I'm not sure if I should let him (7th grader) continue. I recently read a book called Grit by Angela Duckworth. The author develops a questionnaire to test how gritty a person is. I was wondering if I could use this proven grit scale to test my own method of testing people's grit. I was wondering if I could use this proven grit scale to… Read more

How does salinity and voltage work? How does salinity and voltage work? For my experiment, I will have to use salt water. First off, do the terms % salt water and % salinity of salt water mean the same thing? Assuming they do, if I were to have 10% salt water, would that mean I would - dissolve 10 grams of salt in 100 grams of water or - dissolve 10 grams of salt in 90 grams of water? I am a bit unclear on how percentage works, and I am not using parts per thousand. Additionally, I will… Read more

Pi 4 load for streams Pi 4 load for streams Hi to evryone! To be true I don’t have "raspberries" for now, and I ask this question to understand should I buy it or not. There is a python script that periodically checks the status of the twitch stream and (if the stream has become online) recording starts (via streamlink). Has anyone done anything like this? I wonder if the pi 4 can handle 2-3-4 simultaneous streams from a twitch at, say, 1080p 5-10kbit / s? Will there be frame drops… Read more
