Automatic Plant Watering Project
Automatic Plant Watering Project
When trying to calibrate the soil moisture sensor, step 3 says the serial monitor in Arduino should read 0 when the probes aren't touching anything. We get a reading of 13 and 14. It also changes very little when we touch the probes with a finger. Can you please advise as to why we aren't getting a reading of 0?

Wily Waves - Question about building the water column
Wily Waves - Question about building the water column
We are confused as to whether we need to cut the abs pipe. We know we need to dunk the column at least up to the 6 ft mark, and then we need a few feet to hold on to the pipe. The instructions below are confusing. They say to measure the distance between the pool edge to the start of the water, but then say that it has to be a min of 5 ft and to record at 5 ft regardless of the actual…

Ultrasonic Levitation Not Functioning
Ultrasonic Levitation Not Functioning
I believe that I have completely followed the directions up to this point that regard the building of an Arduino ultrasonic levitator. The fact of the matter is that it does not work at all. What I mean by this is the ultrasonic transducers do not make any sound and have no electrical current running through them no matter what I do. I am currently using the 12 volt power supply with the h-bridge. The one thing that I…

Earthworms and soil
Earthworms and soil
I’m wanting to test how/if different types of earthworms affect the soil in my yard specifically for science fair. For example, I would dig in the same area of my yard, fill 3-4 containers, add different earthworms to each container, observe which would best benefit my yard. Is this controlled enough for testing?

Artificial Pancreas Water pump
Artificial Pancreas Water pump
I wanted to do Artificial Pancreas for my science fair. The issue is that the materials are not readily available in my country. So I’ve managed to get an alternative.
For the pump, I’ve the 3V 5V Submersible water pump with a tubing. I’ll attach an image of it. I thought i can place it in the container containing tap water (insulin) and the outlet tube will pump water into the Distilled water. So since it’s quite different from…

Archaeology- site resources
Archaeology- site resources
Besides protective clothing, what do archaeologists use during field work to protect themselves and their site from the sun, rain and wind? How expensive is this equipment? How long does it last?
Would an archaeologist working in the field benefit from having access to large vinyl tarps that are 10-20 mm thick, flexible, strong, UV resistant? These tarps could be used to create shade or as ground covers
